Valbonnais is in a sheltered valley at the entrance to the Parc National des Ecrins and 13 km from the N85, Route de Napoleon at La Mure (nearest town). As the gite is close to the mountains it is, therefore, ideally situated for walking, cycling and reaching the ski resorts within a short journey. If your stay in our gîte is in winter your nearest ski resorts are Col d’Ornon (20 mins), a small authentic ski resort, L’Alpe du Grand Serre (30 mins) a larger family resort and further afield the well-known resorts of Alpe d’Huez and Les Deux Alpes with the lesser known resort of Super Devoluy further south in the Hautes-Alpes.
